Location: This show will be at Josephine County fairgrounds in Grants Pass, Oregon on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020. *Please note the directions below as to which gate to come in!!! Pens will be available on May 3rd at 4pm. We will have people staying in the barn at night to watch over your goats if you come in on Friday. You are welcome to throw a cot down and sleep in the barn that night if you like. If you want to camp on Friday night please contact Yvonne Roberts for more information (541-479-3159 rycj@yahoo.com) you may not be able to camp at the fairgrounds, it depends on the space. For those of you checking in Friday let us know ahead of time, if possible, we will again have a meal for you during check in on Friday and like to have an # estimate. The meal is free of charge, donations appreciated. Also, we are taking donations to help pay for the night guards for Friday night as we do pay them.
Raffle: We hope to have a doeling of each breed again at our raffle, plus some other nice items. If you would like to donate a doeling or another large item please let us know and we'll list it on our website and have a sign and jar ready when you get there. Of course any raffle items will be greatly appreciated! Just bring them to the show with you! To see things already donated you can go here. We will be adding items as they are donated. Don't forget your raffle money! There will be lots of great things plus, hopefully, a doeling of each breed! We really need the raffle money for this show's expenses.
Check in times: Check in times for the show are 4pm-10pm on May 1st and 6am-8am on May 2nd. The show will start at 9am.
Parking: You will be shown where to park after you check in.
Bedding: We are allowed to have straw bedding. NO SHAVINGS! You will have to rake out your pens before you leave though. We'll try to supply rakes and wheelbarrows. We will charge $2 per pen to clean your pen after the show if you prefer not to clean your own pen. You can pay on your entry, at check in or at the raffle table during or after the show if you would like to pay to us clean your pen instead of doing it yourself. A 4-H group is doing it this year for $2 per pen.
Show whites: Show whites are recommended, but not required.
ALL BUCKS IN THE BARN MUST BE SHOWN. All bucks in the barn must show in at least one ring, the pens are for the buck show, not kids for sale or that need to be taken care of. Any goat brought that is not entered in the show AND shown MUST stay in their trailers or vehicle (which we do NOT recommend doing). For sale signs are allowed, but please remove them when you leave. NO DOES ALLOWED IN THE BARN, except the raffle doelings.
Your assistance needed: We again need your assistance in a few areas. One thing is we always request fellow exhibitors to help others who need handlers, we invite people to come and help with that and we have always had handlers for everyone that needs help getting their bucks in the ring, we do our best! If you or people with you can help handle for fellow exhibitors please let the secretaries or ring stewards know. If you KNOW you will need handlers please let us know at check in so we can try to set people up to help you during the show. We also need everyone to rake the hay and straw out of their own pens. If you do not want to take the time to clean your pens you can pay $2 per pen and we pay a 4H group to clean the pens for us. Just pay that on your entry form. Thank you to all of you who have helped at past shows, we feel that our shows have gone very smoothly thanks to all of the exhibitors chipping in as they have in the past and we hope this will continue.
NOTES: This is an ADGA sanctioned show and ADGA rules govern this show. Junior and seniors are not separately sanctioned. ALL bucks must be dehorned/disbudded, this is according to ADGA rules. For a buck to receive a full CH "leg" he MUST have at least one papered offspring before the day of the show. These kids from the buck being shown must already be papered, not just have the application into ADGA. "This show/event is part of the Washington State Goat Breeders Association's annual events."
